Lethune (n.)
A psychological state characterized by the cessation of emotional investment in a particular issue, accompanied by an affective neutrality. It emerges as a complex response to prolonged cognitive dissonance or emotional fatigue, often evoking neither positive relief nor negative resignation. Lethune denotes an adaptive disengagement that allows the individual to move forward without the burden of unresolved affect, distinct from apathy or indifference.
Usage:
"After weeks of stressing about the argument, she felt a lethune settle over her, and she just... let it go."
